My name is Jason A Polk and I’m a relationship coach, counselor and owner of Colorado Relationship Recovery.
My passion is helping couples build thriving relationships.
I’ve been in hopeless places in past relationships. I’ve gone through divorce. I know the hurt of disconnection, the sadness of confusion, whether it’s occurred gradually or suddenly.
These painful experiences with relationships in my own past have motivated me to help couples avoid similar anguish.
I’m a lifelong learner and my passion is reading books, attending trainings, and participating in workshops on relationships. In this vein, I’ve studied and trained with internationally known relationship therapists such as Stan Tatkin and Terry Real. I’m Level II PACT (psychobiological approach to couple therapy) trained, and I’m also trained in RLT (relational life therapy).
During my journey towards relational health, I’ve been able to reflect on things I’ve done wrong. These missteps include 1) not putting the relationship first and 2) not trusting the basic goodness of my partner – not seeing that she’s perfectly imperfect.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from these missteps and put the relationship first, which leads to more trust and freedom. The more we trust and appreciate the basic goodness of each other, the more appreciation and connection we experience.
Now that I’m happily married, I believe that if motivated, anyone can have a thriving relationship. Basically, if I can do it, so can you!
